Sarah Palin is an American politician, mother of 5, author, speaker, and political news commentator who was the youngest person and the first woman elected Governor of Alaska. With an approval rating of 89%, she was named the most popular governor in America. She came from a middle class family with 4 children. Her father was a teacher. She worked to pay her own way through college, working on fishing boats and in a cannery. She earned a Bachelors degree in Communication, worked as a sportscaster for KTUU-TV and KTVA-TV and as a sports reporter for the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman. She served 2 terms on the City Council of Wasilla, Alaska, served 2 consecutive 3 year terms as Mayor of Wasilla and was President of the Alaska Conference of Mayors,. She was appointed to and named Chair and Ethics Supervisor of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, served 2 years as Director of Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, inc., She served as Governor of Alaska. She co-wrote and signed into law the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA). She fulfilled every one of her campaign promises both as Mayor and as Governor. She has visited Alaskan Nat’l Guard troops in Kuwait and wounded troops in Germany, Negotiated with Canada on building a natural gas line from Alaska to the lower 48 states, Has met with the leader of Iceland, traveled to Ireland, Canada and Mexico. She delivered a keynote speech in India where she met with Indian Prime Minister Singh and Egypt’s Mohamem Eibaraden then went to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu. At the U N National Assembly Meetings she met with Henry Kissinger who gave her insights on Georgia(Russia). She sat down with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe. Colombia's foreign minister, Jaime Bermudez, told The Associated Press that Palin and Uribe discussed the Bush administration's free trade agreement with Colombia. The crisis on Wall Street was also discussed, Bermudez said. "She knows the topic well.", Uribe's press secretary, Cesar Mauricio Velasquez, told AP the meeting lasted for 25 minutes and also touched on Colombian security and the war on terrorism. "The conversation was interesting, opportune and relaxed," he said. She also met with: Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. She has written 2 books, both of which were #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List and which sold over 2 million copies since January 2010. She also provided political commentary for Fox News and had her own TV show. She still travels the country as a keynote speaker at many events including the Tea Party rallies. So, people who call her stupid or illiterate, etc. are just showing how ignorant they, themselves are.She's been proven (by her enemies) to be the most honest, ethical, hardworking politician in modern history.
